SOLVE/DISSOLVE,1990
36x26x2in

Solve/Dissolve plots sequences in a square grid of 256 points. In response to sound, it reveals its plotting methods (left-to-right, center-to-edge spiral, right-to-left, etc.). Left undisturbed, it plots its current possibilities at varying speeds, generating both rythmic variations and static 'constellations'. The machine is hard-wired, it has no microprocessor or programmable memory.
